2008SAP 5.3: Decision Support Experiments and Evaluations Using Seasonal to Interannual Forecasts and Observational Data: A Focus on Water Resources
This report focuses on incorporating scientific predictions of seasonal climate into water resource management decisions. The report recommends improvements to forecast models, expansion of seasonal interannual forecasts to different spatial and temporal scales, and the development of comprehensive multidisciplinary tools. The report concludes that forecasts must be useful across a wide range of applications and that scientists must collaborate closely with decision makers. Section 2.2 address hydrologic and water resources monitoring.
