The
expected changes in weather and climate will directly impact the quantity,
quality, seasonal variation and geographic distribution of the world’s fresh
water resources. Water agencies
(drinking water, wastewater and stormwater) in the United States and in other
countries have already begun to consider the
possible effects and to plan responses.
Realizing the importance and urgency in planning for a changing climate,
representatives from Water Research Foundation (WaterRF), Water Environment
Research Foundation (WERF) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) decided to work together to formulate a
multi-year research agenda to address
climate change research and forecast needs related to water, and to help
raise awareness of these needs.

Collaboration and Partnerships
This site has been specifically set up to enable enhanced collaboration between
water, wastewater utilities. The site design encourages posting of discussions,
case studies, web links or other information that will be helpful for the
workshop. We need utilities involvement to make the workshop a success.
